If you're on this website, congratulations, because that means you're already thinking about what you can do to lead a healthier lifestyle. The question is how do you even start with this process? This is where I can help. By taking you through the following steps we can work together to get you towards that goal.
~ An assessment of where you are right now, not just in terms of your fitness level, but also the things that affect that such as how much time do you have to work out, previous injuries, what types of exercise do you like...and what types do you hate.
~ Once we know your current fitness level, and the factors affecting that, then we create a series of goals for you: weekly, monthly and annual. By breaking down what you want to achieve into smaller chunks it's much easier to get you to where you want to be.
~ Designing workouts that will get you the results you want but that you will actually enjoy! Each of my clients have completely different workouts. Why? Because, they are all different, they have different goals, different body types, and different types of exercise that they like to do.
~ Track your progress. Every client has a secure page to log into where things such as workouts, food ideas, and progress are tracked. (Progress is measured in different ways and can include things such as heart rate and blood pressure readings, intensity of workouts, and body measurements.)
Where will we workout?
Simple answer: your choice. I know that many people do not like a traditional gym setting so with that in mind we can workout in your home, at the local park, or at the workout studio I have which is located close to Memorial Park. We can even work out at your place of work if there is a suitable area in which to do so. You choose the best option for you because that will help you stick to your goals.
Workout with a friend
Want to workout with your friend, sister, daughter? Why not work out at the same time? You can enjoy the time spent together and it helps split the cost of training.
Already a gym member but need some guidance?
I can help with that. We can book you in for just a few sessions to show you correct exercise form, plan new workouts that you can use at your gym, and give you some food guidelines that you will then have for future reference.
Helping your employees get fit
Many businesses are realizing the benefits of a healthy workforce. In addition to one to one training, I also offer services for businesses where I can come to your place of work to train several people at once. Alternatively, I can be the onsite personal trainer for a certain number of hours per week, so your employees can pop in for advice on exercise and nutrition.
Training prices range from $30 - $50 per session. I also offer a few different packages depending on your needs. Are you looking for a bit of guidance or do you have a need for much more direction, support, and accountability from me. Packages range from $300 - $600 per month. Click the button below to email your telephone number and I will call to discuss which option would be best suited for you.
As a personal trainer and health coach I can offer guidance on the best types of food you should be eating to work towards a healthier lifestyle. I ask all my clients to keep a food diary so that we can really see your eating habits and the types of food you like. Based upon this, I give you food guidelines and work out the best times to eat based upon your lifestyle. We can also take a trip to the grocery store together to show you how to make the best choices when faced with so many options! I'm all about eating real, tasty food that won't leave you hungry or missing on nutrients. I don't believe in fad diets. Obviously, if I notice nutritional issues that require further investigation, I would recommend that you see a Registered Dietitian.
As a certified health coach I can guide you through the hurdles you will face when trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle, such as what foods you should be eating and what exercise to do. We will sit down and figure out what changes you would like to make and then start to implement small, easy to manage steps. We talk about what has worked for you in the past and what hasn't, and look at your current lifestyle, such as work hours, home life, and any health issues, and set realistic goals that you can make part of your daily life - changes that you will be able to maintain long term.
What is Corrective Exercise?
As a corrective exercise specialist I can work with clients who have muscular imbalances and work on programs to correct those imbalances. What does that mean in real life? As an example, you may have had a shoulder injury which means that you now don't have full range of motion in your shoulder area. I can show you how to use techniques such as foam rolling, static stretching, and ways in which to reactivate certain muscles to help regain more function in your shoulder. I often work with clients who have finished working with a physical therapist but want to continue what they have achieved there.
After some frustration finding clothes and accessories for the over 40 woman, I, along with my friends Cathy and Pat, set up the style blog Asbury Lane Style. It was interesting when the conversation started about the lack of fashion advice for 40+ women as it seems Cathy, Pat and I all agreed there wasn't a lot of good stuff out there, and when we asked our friends, they felt the same. I'm a big believer in finding what your 'style' is and then having key pieces to build the capsule wardrobe so you never face the 'I have nothing to wear' issue again!
